Is Westwind Part of a Denomination?

Westwind Church is an evangelical church which focuses on contemporary worship and verse by verse teaching of the Bible. We affiliate ourselves with the Southern Baptist Convention for the purpose of missions. We are also associated with other denominations for the purpose of adult, student, and children’s ministry.

I’m in…now what?

Many people are making commitments to be a part of Westwind Church, so we thought we would help you understand what the next steps are after you make your commitment.

  1. Be a part of our Thursday Prayer Initiative.
  2. Attend a Prayer Event (Prayer Luncheon/Concert of Prayer)
  3. Consider giving financially to Westwind.
  4. Attend our launch team meetings (Beginning in February)
  5. Become a member of our website to receive updates and information on a regular basis.
  6. Be thinking about a ministry area you would like to get involved in.
  7. Fill out a Declaration of Intent and turn it in to Brandon or Geoff.

We are excited that you are on board and look forward to seeing how God uses you in the days, weeks, months, and years ahead!

Who is Your Senior Pastor?

Westwind Church has a shared leadership structure. We like to say that we are staff-run and elder-led. The heart behind this is that we share in the vision and direction of the church. Brandon and Geoff are co-leaders of the church. They are the full-time staff that help make Westwind happen. They share in speaking, division of labor and in setting a vision for Westwind’s future. We believe this leadership style will give Westwind a leadership edge, allowing more than one person to lead the church. If you were to ask Geoff and Brandon “Who is the senior pastor”, they might answer “position: open.”
