4. Raise the funds necessary to participate in local, regional and global missions

On Sunday, November 22, Westwind Church presented a message to men, asking them to become “Titus 2 Men”, or men of self-control, worthy of respect and who live wisely. We understand that part of being a man in today’s culture can push against those character qualities. That is why we want to help our men become godly Titus 2 men.

Fraternity is designed to sharpen men; their spiritual lives, their character and their relationships. Based on Robert Lewis’ Men’s Fraternity Ministry, this ministry will “bring men together on common ground to learn together and listen to each other. Bonds of true God-centered friendships are formed as men encourage each other week- by-week to more fully embrace a godly view of manhood.”

Meeting at the Westwind Church office Thursday mornings (Starting January 14th at 6:15AM), Fraternity is designed to link men together through relevant discussions and insight into issues facing today’s man. There will be coffee and light breakfast served.

This summer we want to give people a chance to experience our Connection Group ministry without the worry of what group to attend. Starting Sunday, July 12 (6:30 PM), we will be hosting a seven week group designed to help you get to know others in our worshipping community, get a feel of what our connection groups are like, and to study the early church and their plan for spiritual community. Contact our church office 515-401-1082 if you are interested. There will be no child care provided at this time.

Westwind will host a week of science camp for student’s ages 6-10 this summer. The dates are July 27-30. We will spend the week learning all about the incredible world that we live in and how God has designed it for us. It will be a week of hands on learning and include several field trips to site around the area. One highlight will be a day at the Science Center with our teachers helping us to see God’s truth in each display. We will also go on a fossil dig and explore the creation timeline. The cost for the week is $25, includes a t-shirt and all trips. Students will bring their own lunch daily. We will meet from 9am to 3pm daily. The camp will be held in the pavilion at Ridge Pointe Park Park in Waukee.
