The Israelites were notorious complainers. It seems at every turn they doubted God’s leading (Ex. 14:11) and appeared to agree on one thing – complaining (16:2). Moses helped them to see what we need to see – every complaint against leadership is a complaint against God Himself (16:8). Think about that. Grumbling against parents is grumbling against God. Grumbling against bosses is grumbling against God. Grumbling against church leaders, husbands and other authorities is grumbling against God. He is the One Who has sovereignly put them in these roles. Let’s be challenged by God’s word to trust Him, His leadership, and model submission and gratitude to the church and our kids.
