By definition, a nova is a star that suddenly becomes bright. That is the idea behind a new song we will be singing at Westwind, introduced last week by the New Heights band. “Nova” by Hillsong United, takes that idea and applies it to the church today, in that as a church our desire is to burn more brightly than ever before. Listen to the song with the links below, and as you do, think about how the lyrics apply to where Westwind is as a church, but also where you are personally. How does this song line up with the desires of your heart? Also, as you listen, pay attention to the music in the song. We chose this song partially because of the joy and intensity that are poured out through the music. Do you feel that “Nova” helps you express adoration to our creator?
Nova
Let all the earth declare Your Name
Voices resounding heaven’s fame
Our God be praised forever
Flood all the earth with endless light
Raise up the streets from death to life
Our God be praised forever
Oh God be praised
Come let Your glory arise
And shine as the nations collide with Your story
Love overtaking our lives
Arise as our hearts come alight with Your glory
Let all injustice shut it’s mouth
As we join our hearts and start to shout
Our God be praised forever
Oh God be praised
Be unto Your Name
All glory and honour
Singing holy is our God
Holy is our God
Your life on display
Your strength in our weakness
Singing holy is our God
Holy is our God
How great is Your love
How great are Your ways
There’s nothing we want more
But to live for You God
There’s no other Name
More worthy of praise
Jesus let Your love be known

On Sunday, February 5, New Heights Church will be taking over the service. In June of 2011, Westwind decided to plant a church in Warren County (find out more here). Since then, Pastors Geoff and Kevin have been working hard to get ready for the April 8, Easter Sunday, launch!
Westwind will be hosting New Heights on February 5, giving them the entire celebration service as they share their vision and their talents with us. It will be a great time to unify our two worshipping communities together!
