GEOFF SAFFORD {Celebration Lead}
Geoff comes to Westwind Church with over 27 years of ministry experience under his belt, most recently serving at Fellowship Community Church in Norwalk. Previously, he worked at Crystal Evangelical Free Church in New Hope, Minn., and Emmanuel Baptist Church in Flint, Mich. With all that youth ministry experience, he’s an excellent resource for all sorts of interesting crowd-breaker games (you can really take Capture The Flag and freeze tag to a whole other level—make sure to ask him about it). Geoff and his wife Deb are the proud parents of four: Geoff, Hannah, Trent and Naomi. He has bachelor of arts degrees in education, Bible, history and missions from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College in Owatonna, Minn., and has his master of arts in education from the University of Minnesota in Mankato. Geoff is an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hunting, fishing, a wide array of sports, reading and date nights with Deb.
BRANDON BARKER {Connection Lead}
Brandon is a definite Iowan/Minnesotan blend, hailing from the Quad Cities and working for a time in the Twin Cities. He got his bachelor of arts degree from Bethel College in St. Paul. Brandon worked most recently at Valley Church in West Des Moines, and previously served at Grace Church in Edina, Minn., and Cross of Christ Community Church in Eagan, Minn. Brandon and his wife Karla are parents to Grace and Seth. A movie buff, Brandon also enjoys camping, disc golf and reading. Also a proud youth ministry veteran, Brandon has 17 years of practicing the answer to “What do we do now?” and has been known to occasionally perform some belly-laugh-inducing original song compositions.
TIM GRUBB {Worship Lead}
Music has been a part of Tim’s life since he was eight years old. That is when he first started singing. At age 14 he started playing guitar, and he hasn’t been able to put it down ever since. Tim has been leading worship for six years now. Prior to Westwind Tim was the Worship Director for Fellowship Community Church in Norwalk, Iowa, and he also had served there as the youth worship leader. Tim has been a part of various community and national events through two worship bands he has lead, SoulFire and the Tim Aaron Band (Aaron is Tim’s middle name). He and his wife, Mary, are high school sweethearts, and are proud parents to Tristan and Colby James. In 2006 Tim graduated from the Iowa Electrical Apprenticeship, and he currently holds a Journeyman Electrician’s License. Tim loves going to the movies, home improvement projects, and waving a yellow ‘terrible towel’ while cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
