Our Mission

LEADING PEOPLE TO THE MISSION OF CHRIST THROUGH CELEBRATING GOD’S STORY, CONNECTING ONE ANOTHER TO THE STORY, AND CONTRIBUTING TO THE STORY.

“Giving God His Due”

We praise you, LORD, for all your glorious power. With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.- Psalm 21:13

A person can spend their entire life getting to know God and still know only a fraction of who He is and how expanded are His ways. Westwind Church is committed to celebrating who God is, and what He has, is, and will do with His creation. This celebration can be in the form of an inspiring message, a passionate song or an engaging prayer. It is anything that points people to worship God, and proves that He is the God of the Bible.

“Creating Constellations”

We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.- 1 John 1:3

As a person begins to celebrate who God is, a desire to connect with others who feel the same will ensue. As part of the Westwind Church discipleship process, it is important to create meaningful, transformational connections with others who want to walk as Christ walked. These connections can be one-on-one mentoring relationships, small groups or community groups. Westwind Church will predominately use small groups to help make these connections. The key criterion is that they be connections that sharpen a person toward Christ-likeness.

“Thinking Thirdly”

Tell the Israelites to bring me an offering. You are to receive the offering for me from each man whose heart prompts him to give.- Exodus 25:2

God has called all of His people to be members of the body (the church). Once a person begins to see God as the God of the Bible and connect to others, the next step is to take part in the work of Christ. This can be done in the context of Westwind Church, or in the world-wide community. There will be opportunities for Westwind Church attendees to take ownership of ministry opportunities through using their God-given gifts, abilities and passion areas. Just as important are the opportunities to serve the community, both locally and world-wide, through service and evangelism. There is also a financial aspect to giving to the work of God, so people will be challenged to take part in the spiritual discipline of tithing. At the heart of contributing, whether it be serving or giving, should be a willing heart—they must want to give to the Kingdom.
