I love the words of wisdom from today reading in Psalms.  I really needed these words today. Read slowly these phrases from today’s passage:

“Do not be agitated by evildoers; do not envy those who do wrong.”

“Trust in the LORD and do what is good”

“Take delight in the LORD”

“Commit your way to the LORD”

“Trust in Him”

“Be silent before the LORD and wait expectantly for Him”

“Refrain from anger and give up your rage”

All of these have to do with my heart.  They are not about what others should do to make things right when they wrong me.  They are not about what I should do make things right when others wrong me.   God wants to work in my heart when I have been wronged.  God wants me to learn how to trust Him.  God wants me to know that He is in charge, no me.

I got really angry today when I was driving around downtown and NOBODY else seemed to know simple “rules of the road”.  Lane changes.  Lack of blinkers.  Sudden stops.  No GPS.  If God would only part the pavement so I could drive through with no traffic!  I was about to start shouting when I remembered the Words I had just read… “be silent… refrain from anger… do what is good…”   Thank You Lord for your Words that bring me peace.
