2.5.12 Discussion Guide

  1. Reread Luke 19:1-10.  Why do you think Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus? What do you think the world wants from Jesus today?
  2. Who would you identify as a group that would compare to Zacchaeus today?  Would you be one of the ones in the party with him,or would you be one of the scoffers outside (19:7)?
  3. How do you even identify the “lost” today?  Do you see them more as broken, beaten, addicts or do you identify them as the neighbors in your subdivision who live just like you?
  4. Can you identify with Jesus’ heart for seeking and saving the lost?  When was the last time you reached out to someone who is “lost?” Share your recent experiences with the group.
  5. Is there a modern day “Zacchaeus” the Lord might want to reach out to through you?  Share that person’s name with your group and how you might engage them this week.
  6. This weekend we celebrated the New Heights church plant.  What is your role in that?  Giving?  Praying?  Going?  Something else?
  7. Spend some time as a group praying for both New Heights and the “Zacchaeus’s” the Lord will use us to reach out to this week.
