Get to Work

Geoff Safford 1Tonight 22 people from differing stories and backgrounds gathered together at Waukee Library and lifted the mission of Westwind before the Lord. It was, to date, the largest gathering in the name of Westwind. Led by Brandon and Geoff, the prayers focused on Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Time was spent thanking God for our unique gifting, asking God to help us in the work, and calling God to the specific areas that need His intervention. It was a tremendously encouraging evening. Karla Barker said, “It was nice just to be together and develop the friendships that are starting.”

One of the biggest praises was the recent news of Westwind’s involvement with Cornerstone Church in Ames, IA. Geoff and Brandon announced that they are partnering with Cornerstone Church in the church plant. This is thrilling news to know that God had been preparing Cornerstone in advance to have a passion for the Waukee area. It will be exciting to see how God uses this partnership. Brandon and Geoff believe it will help make even a bigger impact in the community as they seek to take the DNA of Cornerstone and insert it into the Westwind Church plant. Since this is Cornerstone’s first church plant it will be new territory for everyone involved.

We look forward to more concerts of prayer in the future. You can find out the next prayer event on the Westwind Calendar.
